Hello lovelies!
Welcome to The Lavender Cove, where I share everything witchcraft and paganism,
and ocassionally I'll sprinkle some of my mundane life too. I practice mainly green witchcraft and plantery magic
and am a practicing hellenistic polytheist. Furthermore I love writing, reading, poetry, arts, the gym, beauty and fashion.
In my little corner of the internet I get to yap all about it. Click here to read more about me and my blog.
As a kid I was highly interested in fairy and mermaid lore. I searched far and wide for spells to become either a fairy or mermaid and performed everyone of them to shift into the fantasy creatures. You can imagine my disappointment when I didn’t have big butterfly wings growing out of my back, or my legs shifting into a deep blue tail every time it rained.
Although I didn’t become a fairy or mermaid, the interest helped me foster a deep connection to nature and the water element, perceiving the world through a different, more magical lens. At the age of 9 I gave myself the alias Lavender Dreamcatcher. Lavender was after all my favourite flower and I was fascinated by dreams and the dreamworld (I mean, I could be anything in my dreams!). I never let go of this alias. At the age of 12 I started questioning the Abrahamic religion my parents raised me under, and at the age of 14 I started researching the ancient Greek religion. I firmly believed that if the Greek gods persevered for this long, surely people actually believed in them in anquity and there is some truth to them. That’s how I stumbled upon Hellenic Polytheism. I started writing letters to Artemis and Apollon, signing them off with Lavender Dreamcatcher. I gave them offerings and prayed to them at night. Sometimes I’d also pray to the other gods, like Aphrodite or Persephone during the equinoxes.
At the age of 21 I started practicing witchcraft, falling deeply in love with it. Looking back on the way things went, it was granted that I would follow the path. Now at 23, my practice has evolved to one that works closely with the land around me, traditional practices from my ancestry, planetary magic and deity work. I mainly work with plants (and their respective spirits) and the seven traditional planets. In my blog I want to write all about my practice, so that I don’t have to yap my friends ears off about it.
However, my life involves more than just solely witchcraft. Because I have other interests as well, like the gym, beauty, fashion and writing, my blog will also encompass these topics. Feel free to take a look at these as well, or stick to the witchy stuff if that’s more your cup of tea.
Sincerely,
Lavender Dreamcatcher
